Consent: What It Is and Why You Need It!

Course Description

Consent is about communication and it should happen every time. Students will learn strategies on how to recognize consensual versus nonconsensual behaviors and how to withdraw consent if at any time things feel uncomfortable.

Learning Objectives

1. Define consent and how to communicate it.

2. Recognize boundary violations.

3. Identify times when consent cannot be given.

4. Recognize responsibilities in respecting another’s choices.

Session Formats

90 minutes is standard, can cut down to 60 if needed
